Capital One First-Team Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team when this year's teams were released on Thursday. Luther and Vescovi will now advance to the
Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month...

          The 2013-14
Capital One Academic All-District ® Men's Basketball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
              The Academic All-District ® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the second year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America ® Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.

              Luther, a senior forward from Gibsonia, Pa., has a 3.42 overall GPA in Business. He is Pitt-Johnstown's second leading scorer (13.0 ppg.) and third leading rebounder (3.8 rpg.). Luther, who leads the team with 50 3-pointers, also ranks 38
th in NCAA Division II in total 3-pointers, 44
th in 3-pointers attempted, 53
rd in 3-pointers per game, and 59
th in 3-point field goal percentage. His 1,106 career points rank him 19
th on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List, while his 235 3-pointers are third on the school's career 3-point field goals list.

              Vescovi, a junior center from Patton, Pa., is now a two-time First-Team Academic All-District selection, with a 4.0 overall GPA in Mathematics. Vescovi leads the Mountain Cats in scoring (13.5 ppg.), rebounding (7.1 rpg.), field goal percentage (58.7%), and blocked shots (41).  Nationally, he ranks is 27
th in field goal percentage, 28
th in total blocks, and 37
th in blocks per game.
