Men's Basketball Adds Four Recruits For 2014-15 Season

Johnstown, PA

1422Head Coach Bob Rukavina and the Pitt-Johnstown men's basketball program has added four players for the 2014-15 season, including NCAA Division I transfer from Sienna (NY) College Rich Audu.
 
"This is one of our most competitive and athletic recruiting classes that we have brought in in a number of years," Coach Rukavina said.  "We have Division I experience in Rich Audu and three freshmen who know how to win."
 
Rich Audu   Guard    6'3"   195 lbs.  Mississauga, Ontario / Regional Elite Development Academy
         Rich Audu joins the Mountain Cat basketball program after spending the previous two seasons at NCAA Division I Sienna (NY) College.  Audu played in 30 games (four starts) and averaged about 14 minutes per game at Sienna.  He also shot 93% from the free-throw line.
         Audu is the son of Richard and Marium Audu.  He was coached by Paul Melnik at the Regional Elite Development Academy, and Jimmy Patsos at Sienna College.  Audu is majoring in Communication at Pitt-Johnstown.
 
Dale Clancy, Jr.    Guard     5'10"    165 lbs     Pittsburgh, Pa. / Seton La Salle High School
         Dale Clancy, Jr. averaged 17 points, five rebounds, and seven assists per game on his way to leading Seton La Salle High School to a WPIAL Championship and a PIAA Class A State Runner-up finish in 2013-14.  Clancy, Jr. wrapped-up with high school career with 1,072 points, over 300 rebound, and more than 400 assists.  He was selected to play in the Hoops for Cure All-Star Game where he garnered Most Valuable Player honors.  Clancy, Jr. also named an Almanac Fab Five.
         Clancy, Jr. is the son of Dale Clancy, Sr. and Monica Wheat of Pittsburgh, Pa.  He was coached by Mark Walsh at Seton La Salle High School.  His major is undeclared.          
 
Levi Masua     Forward      6'6"    195 lbs.     Pittsburgh, Pa. / Seton La Salle High School
         Levi Masua averaged 15.6 points and 10 rebounds per game on his way to being named Pennsylvania All-State and guide Seton La Salle High School to a WPIAL Championship and a PIAA runner-up finish in 2013-14.
         Masua, who graduate from Seton La Salle with a 3.5 overall GPA, was also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Environmental Club, SADD, and Rebels for Life.
         Masua is the son of Sano Masua and Widad Salim Lake.  He was coached by Mark Walsh at Seton La Salle High School.  Masua is planning on major in Business Management at Pitt-Johnstown.
       
Ajan Smith     Forward     6'4"    205 lbs.     Homestead, Pa. / Steel Valley High School
       Ajan Smith averaged 16.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game as a senior in 2013-14 at Steel Valley High School.  Smith, a two-time All-Sections selection and a two-time Daily News Fabulous 15 choice, played in the Roundball Classic and the Hoops for a Cure All-Star Game following his senior season.
       Smith, a high honor roll student in high school, is the son of Alvin and Gia Smith of Homestead, Pa.  He was coached by Shawn McAllister at Steel Valley High School.  Smith plans to major in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Pitt-Johnstown.
 

Pitt-Johnstown tips-offs the 2014-15 season in the Sports Center against Penn State-New Kensington on November 14, before hosting Clarion University on November 19 to begin its second season in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
