Women's Basketball Adds Four Recruits For 2015-16 Season

 "We are extremely excited with our recruiting class this year," Coach Drahos said.  "I think we added four really hard-working kids who each bring something to the table.  They are all good players, but more than that, they are all really good people."
 
Ana Hollen    Freshman    Guard     5'7"     Bellwood, Pa. / Bellwood-Antis High School
       Ana Hollen was a four-year letterman and two-time PIAA All-State selection at Bellwood-Antis High School where she averaged 17.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 4.1 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game as a senior.  She finished her career as school's all-time leader in steals with 406.  Hollen is also the second in school history in scoring (1,605 pts.) and second in assists (447).
      Hollen was selected as the Altoona Mirror Player of the Year and Athlete of the Year in 2015.  She was a three-time All-ICC selection who led her team to three conference championships, a District 6 title in 2014, and one PIAA Quarterfinals appearance.  In her four season, Bellwood-Antis posted a 95-13 overall record.
      In addition, Hollen was a three-year letter-winner in tennis and a two-year letter-winner in track and field.
      Hollen is the daughter of Richard and Hsiu-Ping Hollen.  She was coached by Jim Swaney at Bellwood-Antis High School.
      "Ana is someone we are really excited about," Coach Drahos said.  "She is an extremely talented player, and someone we think can make an immediate impact on the court for us.  She is a great person off the court and the type of player we all want on our team."
 
Tori Moreland   Freshman   Guard/Forward   6'0"   New Philadelphia, OH/New Philadelphia
      Tori Moreland was a four-year letter-winner and Ohio's 2014-15 District 6 Player of the Year at New Philadelphia High School.  She scored over 800 points in her career and posted single-game highs of 19 points against on and 12 rebounds against Zanesville High School.
      Moreland, who guided her team to a 23-2 record and a spot in Ohio's Regional Semifinals in 2014-15, was a First-Team All-ECOL selection as a senior and played in both the North-South All-Star Game and the East-West All-Star Game.
      Along with basketball, Moreland was a four-year letter-winner in soccer and a member of the National Honor Society in high school.
      Moreland is the youngest of David and Kristina Moreland's six children.  She was coached by Matt Voll at New Philadelphia High School.
      "Tori is a coach's dream," Coach Drahos said.  "She's a player who give her all on the court, gets it done in the classroom, and is a genuinely great person.  "We have high expectations for Tori for the next four years at Pitt-Johnstown."
 
Laurel O'Barto     Freshman      Guard        5'5"       Blairsville, Pa. / Blairsville High School
      Laurel O'Barto was a four-year letter-winner in basketball and a one-year letter-winner in cheerleading at Blairsville High School.  She recorded career-highs of 29 points, 12 assists, and eight steals in her high school career.
      O-Barto also helped lead Blairsville to a pair of District 6 championships and three Heritage Conference titles.
      O'Barto is the daughter of Shaun and Beth Barto.  She was coached by Ralph McGinnis at Blairsville High School.
      "Laurel is the type of point guard every coach is looking for," Coach Drahos said.  "She's as tough as they come, rock solid with the ball, and she has a high basketball IQ.  With her skill set, the sky is the limit for Laurel in her collegiate basketball career."
 
Abigail Sporio   Freshman   Guard   5'7"   Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth-Forward High School
       Abigail Sporio was a four-year letter-winner who averaged 15.3 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and six steals per game as a senior captain at Elizabeth Forward High School in 2014-15.  She was selected to play in the 2015 Roundball Classic and was named on of Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Players to Watch.
      Sporio helped guide her team to four straight PIAA State Playoff appearances, a WPIAL AAA title, and two WPIAL Sectional Championships.
      She was also a three-year letter-winner in track and field and a member of the National Honor Society all four years in high school
      Sporio is the daughter of David and Amber Herchelroath.  She was coached by Krystal Gibbs at Elibabeth Forward High School.
      "Abbey is a phenomenal athlete," Coach Drahos said.  "She has good strength and is one of the fastest kids I have ever coached.  She also has the potential to be someone we can lean on to be a lock-down defender."
 
        Pitt-Johnstown tips-off the 2015-16 season at the Shepherd (WV) University Classic on November 18-21, before opening its third season in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) with home games against defending NCAA Division II National Champion California University (PA) on November 18, West Chester University on November 21, and Cheyney University on November 22.
