Ian Vescovi, a Third-Team Academic All-American in 2013-14, has been named to the
Capital One First-Team Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team for the third consecutive year when this year's teams were released on Thursday. Vescovi, who has a 4.0 overall GPA in Mathematics and Computer Science, will now advance to the
Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month...
(Full Academic All-District Release) Vescovi, a native of Patton, Pa. and a graduate of Cambria Heights High School, is averaging 11.4 points per game and is tied for the team elad in rebounding at 7.3 rebounds per game. He leads the Mountain Cats in blocked shots (41), is second in field goal percentage (48.0%) and third in assists (44).
Nationally, Vescovi's 41 blocks ranked 19
th, while his 2.05 blocks per game rank 23
rd.
In addition, Vescovi currently ranks 10
th on the Mountain Cat All-Time Rebounding List with 594 rebounds. He is also 46 points shy of becoming Pitt-Johnstown's 26
th 1,000-point scorer.

Ian Vescovi PITT-JOHNSTOWN Sr. Patton, Pa. 4.00 Mathematics/Computer Science The 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-District ® Men's Basketball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs since 2011.
The Academic All-District ® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the fourth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America ® Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
The Capital One Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2014-15 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.
