Men's Basketball Adds Three Recruits For 2016-17 Season

Johnstown, PA

3192        Head Coach Bob Rukavina and the Pitt-Johnstown men's basketball program have added three players for the 2015-16 season, including local standout and Third-Team Pennsylvania All-State selection Ray Hinton from Ferndale Area high School, and WPIAL standouts Adam Kline (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley High School) and Eddie Flohr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley High School)...         "We are extremely excited about our incoming class," Coach Rukavina said.  "Each freshman brings a certain skill or intangible that will be a great addition to our returning roster.  We are very anxious to see their development over the next four years."
 
Eddie Flohr   Guard    5'11"   170 lbs.  Pittsburgh, Pa. / Chartiers Valley High School
            Eddie Flohr was a four-year letterman in for Head Coach Tim McConnell at Chartiers Valley High School where his team won a WPIAL Championship in 2014-15.  Flohr earned All-Section honors two straight years and earned The Almanac Most Valuable Player Award in 2016.
         Along with basketball, Flohr also was a four-year letterman in baseball who led his team to the 2015-16WPIAL baseball title.
         He plans to major in Accounting at Pitt-Johnstown.
 
Ray Hinton    Guard     6'0"    185 lbs.     Johnstown, Pa. / Ferndale Area High School
            Ray Hinton was a four-year letterman and 2015 Third-Team PIAA A All-State selection who guided Ferndale Area High School to three straight play-off appearances and a West PAC Conference Championship in 2016.
         Hinton scored 1,806 career points and pulled down 825 career rebounds in high school.  He also recorded single-game highs of 42 points against Windber Area High School on January 15, 2015 and 22 rebounds against Rockwood High School on January 29, 2014.
         Hinton was coached by former Mountain Cat basketball player Ryan Durham at Ferndale Area High School.
         Hinton plans to major in Business Management at Pitt-Johnstown.
 
Adam Kline   Forward/Center    6'8"   195 lbs.    Monaca, Pa. / Central Valley High School
            Adam Kline, a two-year letterman for Head Coach Brandon Ambrose, posted single-game highs of 21 points, 16 rebounds, and nine blocks.
         Kline was named the Most Valuable Player at the C.J. Betters Tournament after leading his team to the Championship in December 2015.  He also earned the MAC Student-Athlete Spotlight Award.
         He plans to major in Chemical Engineering at Pitt-Johnstown.
 
        After an exhibition game at the University of Pittsburgh on November 5, Pitt-Johnstown will tips-off the 2016-17 season at the Indiana University (PA) Atlantic Region Challenge on November 11-12.  The Mountain Cats will then host a non-conference game against Carlow University on November 16 at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
