Cody Law won a championship at 157 lbs., and
Tyler Reinhart was the runner-up at 165 lbs. to lead a group of five Mountain Cats who placed in the top-five at Saturday's 2016 PSAC Wrestling Championships at Lock Haven University. Pitt-Johnstown finished first among the eight Division II teams and fifth overall with 72 points.

Division I power Edinboro claimed the PSAC team title with 156.5 points, while Lock Haven (131 pts.), Clarion (96.5 pts.), Bloomsburg (74 pts.), and Pitt-Johnstown (72 pts.) rounded out the top-five in the 12-team field.

Following a bye in the first round, Law coasted into the finals with a 23-8 technical fall over Seton Hill's Damon Greenwald and a 22-6 technical fall over Lock Haven's Kyle Hammond. In the title bout, Law defeated Edinboro's Chase Delande, 8-3, to secure the championship.

Reinhart, Division II's top-ranked wrestler at 165 lbs., won by major decision over Tanner Druck (Seton Hill) and technical fall over Ryan Narber (Shippensburg), before pinning Edinboro's Fritz Hoehn at :35 to set up a finals match against Clarion's Evan DeLong. With the score tied after the first overtime, DeLong got a quick escape in the first ride out, then rode Reinhart out to earn a 2-1 win, giving Reinhart the runner-up finish.

At 141 lbs., freshman
Chris Eddins posted a 3-2 record and placed fourth. Eddins pinned Ozzy Lugo (Edinboro) at 2:28 in the consolation semifinals, but lost a 14-7 decision to Kutztown's Ryne Morrison in the third-place bout.

Tanner Cahill and
John Blankenship each placed fifth for Pitt-Johnstown. Cahill suffered an opening round loss, but battled back to end the tournament at 3-2, including a fall in just 24 seconds over Shippensburg's Cole Rush to place fifth at 133 lbs. Blankenship won by fall in in first bout, but lost his next two to fall to the fifth-place match at 174 lbs., where he dealt Gannon's Jake Stratton a 9-4 setback.

The Mountain Cats travel Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, IN on December on Saturday and Sunday, and to the 2017 National Duals in Fort Wayne, IN on January 5-6. Pitt-Johnstown will wrestle its next home match on Friday, January 13 when Lake Erie (OH) College visits the Sports Center.
