
The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's basketball teams will continue their weekend home stand on Sunday with PSAC games against East Stroudsburg University. The women's game is scheduled to tip-off at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center with the men's game to follow at 3 p.m.
Prior to yesterday's game home-opener against Bloomsburg,
Head Coach Mike Drahos' (5th year) Pitt-Johnstown squad was 2-1 following a 67-57 non-conference victory at Salem International (WV) University.
Olivia McCabe recorded her third double-double in as many games with 22 points and 14 rebounds, and
Alexis Hartwick added 12 points and five rebounds. Pitt-Johnstown also got nine points and eight rebounds from
Gabrielle Smith and nine points, five rebounds, and six assists from
Laurel O'Barto.
McCabe entered Saturday's game ranked 21
st on the Pitt-Johnstown Rebounding List with 591.
East Stroudsburg, under third-year
Head Coach Diane Decker, was 1-1 prior to yesterday's game at Clarion. The Warriors suffered an 88-85 overtime loss at New Haven (CT) on November 10, then rebounded behind
Imani Brown's 27 points and seven rebounds to defeat Holy Family, 70-53, on Wednesday.
Last season, Pitt-Johnstown traveled to East Stroudsburg on November 20 and suffered a 65-62 loss.
Tori Moreland scored 19 points and
McCabe had 16 points and seven rebounds for Pitt-Johnstown.
Brown's game-highs of 20 points and 10 rebounds, and
Allison Howard's 15 points led the way for the Warriors.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a non-conference game against Lincoln University on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to PSAC games at Cheyney University on December 2 and Millersville University on December 3.

Isaac Vescovi and PSAC West Freshman of the Week
Drew Magestro each scored 18 points in Friday's 79-75 loss to Virginia State. On Saturday, Pitt-Johnstown got career-highs of 33 points from
Vescovi, 23 points from
Josh Wise, and 12 points from freshman
Marcin Wiszomirski in an 80-69 victory over Urbana (OH).
Prior to this afternoon's game, Pitt-Johnstown will recognize senior guard
Dale Clancy, who became the Mountain Cats' 28
th 1,000-point scorer in a 93-65 win over Seton Hill on February 27.
Clancy entered yesterday's game against Bloomsburg tied with
Ron Haden (1993-95) for 26
th-place on the Pitt-Johnstown All-Time Scoring List with 1,034 points.
Clancy was also seventh on the all-time assists list (405) and 10
th on the all-time 3-point field goals list (158).
Head Coach Jeff Wilson's (16
th season) East Stroudsburg Warriors, picked to finish third in the PSAC Eastern Division, opened their season yesterday at Clarion. The Warriors finished 2016-17 at 18-11 overall and 15-7 mark in conference-play.
East Stroudsburg has won the last three meetings and holds a slim 6-5 advantage in the all-time series. In the last meeting, the Warriors earned a 66-60 win in East Stroudsburg on November 20, 2016.
A.J. Leahey had a game-high 23 points and
Vescovi scored 10 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to pace Pitt-Johnstown.
Rasheed Moore's 18 points and seven rebounds and
Kitt Najee Walls' 14 points and six rebounds led the Warriors.
The Mountain Cats travel to Nyack (NY) for a non-conference game on Tuesday, before returning home to host non-conference games in the Sports Center against the University of the Sciences next Sunday at 2 p.m. and Carlow on November 28 at 7 p.m.
