Isaac Vescovi added 18 points to lead four Mountain Cats who scored in double figures in last Saturday's 92-65 win over Bloomsburg. Last Sunday, East Stroudsburg used s strong second half to down Pitt-Johnstown 99-88. Five Mountain Cats scored in double figures against the Warriors, including
Josh Wise, who poured in a career-high 27 points.
Dale Clancy currently ranks 23
rd on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List, seventh on the assists list, and tied for ninth with Josue Nieves on the career 3-point field goals list.
Head Coach David Pauley's (17
th season) University of the Sciences Devils were 3-2 prior to yesterday's game at Indiana (PA). The Devils defeated Lincoln, 69-62, in overtime last Sunday, before suffering a 66-51 loss at No. 22 St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday.
Brendan Crawford scored 10 points and
Paddy Casey added seven points, five rebounds and four assists for the Devils.
Pitt-Johnstown and the University of the Sciences have met each of the last four years and have split the four games. The Devils won the first two meetings and Pitt-Johnstown claimed last two, including a 75-54 victory at the Indiana (PA) IRMC Classic last November 25.
A.J Leahey scored 16 points, and
Clancy added 13 points to lead Pitt-Johnstown. The Devils were led by
Will Gregorits's 16 points and
John McGill's 11 points and game-high 10 rebounds.
The Mountain Cats host a non-conference game against Carlow on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center, before playing four straight PSAC road games starting at Cheyney on Saturday and Millersville next Sunday.
