Leahey, a native of Lilly, Pa. and a graduate of Penn Cambria High School, also a two-time First-Team Academic All-District selection.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2016-17 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.

Leahey leads the Mountain Cats in both scoring (18.0 ppg.) and rebounding (6.9 rpg.). He is also second on the team in 3-point field goals (72), 3-point field goal percentage (49.3%), and blocked shots (19).

Nationally, Leahey ranks third in NCAA Division II in 3-point field goal percentage (49.3%) and 85
th in field goal percentage (53.5%).

In addition, Leahey ranks seventh on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List with 1,528 points, fifth on the all-time rebounding list with 693, and fourth on the 3-point field goals list with 239.

Adam Klie of the University of California, San Diego has been tabbed the Academic All-America® of the Year award winner for men's basketball.

Nine of the 15 members of the 2016-17 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men's Basketball teams have at least a 3.90 G.P.A., with two student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 G.P.A. The five members of the first team have an average G.P.A. of 3.93.

Along with Klie, the Academic All-America® Division II Men's Basketball teams have five other repeat performers from last year's CoSIDA Academic All-America® teams.
