The 11^th-ranked Mountain Cats fell behind early, but came right back to win seven of the final eight matches, including a first period pin by #1 Cody Law at 157 lbs. that tied it at 10, in a solid 35-10 PSAC Senior Night victory over Shippensburg University, Tuesday night in the Sports Center.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 13-2 overall and 6-0 in the PSAC.

Prior to the match, Pitt-Johnstown recognized this year's seniors…two-time National Qualifier and 2015 All-American John Blankenship (174 lbs.) and 2016 National Champion Nick Roberts (133 lbs.)

At 125 lbs., Dustin Steffenino won an 11-1 major decision over Sam Holandez, and Cole Rush held off Joe Davis, 7-4, at 133 lbs. to put the Raiders in front, 7-0.

Chris Eddins used two back points with under five seconds left to secure a 9-0 major decision over Jared Leonetti to get the Mountain Cats on the scoreboard, but in a battle of Former national Qualifiers at 149 lbs., Shippensburg's Mike Springer secured a 10-7 win over Cole Landowski to increase the lead to 10-4.

However, Pitt-Johnstown got it turned around at 157 lbs. when Law pinned Cody Blankenship in :55 to knot it at 10.

At 165 lbs., second-ranked Tyler Reinhart returned to the line-up and won a 14-3 major decision over Ryan Narber and Blankenship won by forfeit at 174-lbs. to put the Mountain Cat up 20-10.

The Mountain Cats continued to pour it on.  Levi Niebauer son by injury default at 1:19 in the 184-lb. bout, and Nico Pecora received a forfeit win at 197 lbs. to push it out to 32-10, before Allan Beattie closed it out with a 3-2 win over Derek Berberick at 285 lbs.

With the loss, Shippensburg slipped to 12-13 overall and 1-5 in the PSAC.

Pitt-Johnstown closes out the regular season with the PSAC Dual Meet Championship on the line at fifth-ranked Mercyhurst on Saturday, before traveling back to Mercyhurst for the 2017 Super Regional I Tournament on February 24 and 25 and the NCAA Division II National tournament in Birmingham, Ala. On March 10-11.
