Tyler Reinhart both suffered first day losses, but wrestled back to become All-Americans at this weekend's 2017 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships at the Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Ala. Law placed fourth, while Reinhart placed seventh to lead a group of five Mountain Cats who earned spots in this year's national tournament.

After suffering a loss in the quarterfinals, Law came back with a win to advance to Saturday's action where he pinned Indianapolis' Heath Lange at 3:46. Law then held on for a 4-3 win over Joey White (Findlay) in the consolation semifinals, before placing fourth after being forced to injury default.

Law (157 lbs.) scored a 17-4 major decision victory over Minnesota State's Dylan Herman in the first round, but was upset in the quarterfinals by No. 10 DeAndre Johnson (Limestone). Johnson got a takedown five seconds into overtime to pull off the 12-10 upset, sending Law into the second round of the consolations. Law came right back to build a 12-5 lead with under a minute remaining, before winning by disqualification over Colorado State-Pueblo's Kyle Fantin.

Reinhart dropped a 7-5 decision in his opening match of the tournament, but won his next two to remain alive on Saturday. On Saturday, Reinhart fell behind 10-2 in the first period to Findlay's Alonzo Turner in the consolation quarterfinals, and eventually suffered an 11-8 loss, to set-up a re-match against JaCobi Jones (Colorado State-Pueblo) for seventh-place. Reinhart got his revenge after losing to Jones in the first round with a first period fall at 1:44 to finish seventh.

Reinhart, the defending National Champion at 165 lbs., cut a three-point first round deficit to one in the third period, but All-American JaCobi Jones (Colorado State-Pueblo) was able to hold off Reinhart, 7-5, sending him into the consolation bracket. Reinhart rebounded with a 7-5 win over Ashland's Bret Romanzak in the first round of the consolations, the won a 13-5 major decision over Gabe Fogerty (St. Cloud State) to advance to Saturday's action.

At 141 lbs., Eddins suffered tough an opening round, 10-8, loss when Colorado-Mesa's got a takedown as time expired, but bounced back to shutout St. Cloud State's Jarred Oftendahl, 5-0, in the first round of the consolations. However, Eddins was eliminated in the second round of the consolations when he was pinned by Central Oklahoma's Joshua Ailey at 2:51.

Blankenship (174 lbs.), a three-time National Qualifier and a 2015 All-American, also suffered an opening round loss when defending National Runner-up Blaze Shade (UNC-Pembroke) raced out to a quick lead and went on to an 8-1 victory. Blankenship was then eliminated from the tournament with an 8-2 setback to Central Missouri State's Cody Carson in the first round of the consolations.

At 184 lbs., Niebauer suffered a 17-2 technical fall loss at 4:32 to fourth-ranked Aero Amo to begin the tournament, before downing 10
th-ranked Mikey Thomas (UNC-Pembroke), 13-8 in the first round of the consolations. Niebauer was then eliminated after being pinned by Maryville's Zeb Wahle at 2:35.
