
Former Pitt-Johnstown men's basketball player Adam Shaheen, a three-time PSAC Western Division Freshman of the Week selection during the 2013-14 season, was selected in the second round with the 45
th pick of the 2017 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears.

Shaheen, who transferred to Division II Ashland (OH) University after his freshman season at Pitt-Johnstown to pursue his NFL dreams, averaged 5.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 26 games in 2013-14.

The following year, Shaheen transferred to Ashland where he became a standout tight end. Shaheen, a two-time NCAA Division II All-American as a football player, led Ashland in receiving in both 2016 and 2017 and his 16 receiving touchdowns in 2016 tight for the most in the nation among tight ends. Shaheen also set an NCAA Division II record with 70 receptions in a season.
