Pitt-Johnstown senior forward
Isaac Vescovi, who has a 3.99 overall GPA in Secondary Education-Mathematics, was named a 2017-18 CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American when this year's teams were released on Tuesday.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2016-17 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.
Vescovi, a native of Patton, Pa. and a graduate of Cambria Heights High School, also a two-time First-Team Academic All-District selection.

st in free-throw percentage, 41
st in field goal percentage, 42
nd in points per game, and 58
th in total points (564).
Vescovi ended his Pitt-Johnstown career ranked 12
th-place on the Pitt-Johnstown Scoring List with 1,394 points.
West Liberty (WV) University's Daniel Monteroso was named the Academic All-America® of the Year award winner for men's basketball. Monteroso, a graduate-student at West Liberty, has a 4.0 GPA in Education.
The six CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II men's basketball first team members hold a composite 3.93 GPA. Three members of the 15-player first, second and third teams honorees hold a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA.
Four CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II men's basketball selections are repeat picks from the 2016-17 honor listing, including one player making the 2017-18 first team, one selection to the second team and two represented on this year's third team. The repeat performers from the men's team include Monteroso, University of Central Missouri's
Spencer Reaves, a third team selection in 2016-17, Adelphi University's
Michael Coffey, a first team honoree in 2016-17, and
Alex Hagan from Rockhurst University, a third team member in 2016-17.
