Pitt-Johnstown senior outfielder Dan Clark and junior shortstop Jack Shirk were named Second-Team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Baseball by the conferences coaches when this year's teams were released on Tuesday.
 
Slippery Rock's Tyler Walters and West Chester's Jared Melone were honored as PSAC Athletes of the Year in their respective divisions.  PSAC Pitcher of the Year honors went to Chris Vallimont (Mercyhurst) in the west, and Eli Nabholz (Millersville) in the East. Abraham Mow from Slippery Rock and Scott Lietholf from Lock Haven were named the top freshmen, while Jeff Messer (Slippery Rock) and Mike Collins (Bloomsburg) were named the coaches of the year.
 
Clark, a native of Indiana, Pa. and a graduate of Indiana Area High School, was also a 2017 Second-Team All-PSAC West selection and a 2018 Preseason All-PSAC West choice.  Clark hit .333 in 42 games and led Pitt-Johnstown in home runs (5), RBI (28), runs (32), total bases (77), and walks (20).
 
Shirk, a Johnstown native and a graduate of Richland High School, led NCAA Division II in batting average midway through the 2018 season, before finishing his junior year at .375.  In 33 games, Shirk paced the Mountain Cats with 17 doubles and a .598 slugging percentage.  He was also second on the team in hits (42), total bases (67), and walks (15).
 
Shirk, who leads the PSAC in doubles per game at .52, ranks third nationally in that category, while his 17 doubles rank fourth in the PSAC and 53^rd nationally.
