Vito Addalli will make his head coaching debut when the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team opens the 2018 season with a PSAC match against Indiana University, Pa. on Thursday. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
The Mountain Cat are coming off of a 1-16-1 and a 1-14-1 mark in the PSAC.
Head Coach Adel Heder's Crimson Hawks also start their season today. The Crimson Hawks were 12-6 overall and 11-5 in the PSAC in 2017. IUP suffered a 3-1 loss to Gannon in the first round of the PSAC Tournament.
In last year's season-opener,
Kyra Watkins' goal gave Pitt-Johnstown a 1-0 lead in the 58
th minute, before an own goal less than a minute into overtime lifted Pitt-Johnstown to a 2-1 victory at IUP.
Following Thursday's opener, Pitt-Johnstown travels to PSAC matches at Mansfield on Saturday and California (PA) on Wednesday. The Mountain Cats will then host a PSAC match against Millersville on September 8 at 1 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
