After leading the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball program to PSAC championships in 2013 and 2017, Joanna (Nist) Haupt joined with her husband, Justin, has Co-Head Volleyball Coaches in 2018.
In her inaugural season of 2013, Coach Haupt's Lady Cats took the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) by storm. Pitt-Johnstown posted a 26-11 overall record and a 15-7 conference record on its way to winning the PSAC Tournament title and earning the program's first ever NCAA Regional berth.

In her first five season as head coach five seasons, Haupt posted a 144-63 overall record, and a 87-33 record against PSAC opponents. In addition to the records, she has been named PSAC East Coach of the Year twice and led the Lady Cats to four NCAA tournament berths. In six seasons, she has coached 20 All-PSAC selections, including three Freshmen of the Year Winners and one PSAC Athlete of the Year. In addition, Devan Orr the conference's first four-time First-Team All-PSAC selection and four-time Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Haupt, a PIAA All-State selection at Rockwood High School in Rockwood, Pa., took her volleyball talents to California University (PA) where she became a three-time Atlantic Region Player of the Year and a two-time NCAA Division II All-American. Haupt was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Player of the Year in 2009 and was named to the Atlantic Region All-Tournament Team on three occasions. She holds California (PA) career records for kills (1,897), aces (180), and total games-played (519).

In the classroom, Haupt was a two-time ESPN The Magazine Academic All District choice. She graduated with a 3.78 overall GPA as a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. Haupt is also a fifth and sixth-grade reading teacher in the Blacklick Valley School District in Nanty Glo.
Haupt has spent time coaching under the Foothills Volleyball Junior Olympic Club and the Highlands Volleyball Junior Olympic Club.Â
