Lady Cats Down Slippery Rock in PSAC Crossover Match

Marissa Erminio finished with a match-high 25 kills, and 14 digs, and Kelsey Shanabrook added 16 kills and 16 digs to help the Lady Cat volleyball team to a 3-2 victory over Slippery Rock University, in Saturday morning's opening round of the PSAC Crossover in the Sports Center. The Lady Cats advance to 15-5 overall and 9-3 in the PSAC.

Pitt-Johnstown opened by winning the first two sets 25-20 and 25-23, but Slippery Rock bounced back with 16-25 and 19-25 wins to force a fifth set. However, the Lady Cats closed out the match and secured the victory with a 15-12 win.

Beth Kendera had 10 kills, and Ashley DiRado added six kills. Allison Mondorff chipped in 55 assists and Katie Svetahor finished with a team-high 19 digs.

Caroline Houston had 23 kills and 12 digs, and Kristy Lake added 17 kills and four digs for Slippery Rock, which fell to 9-15 overall and 4-8 in the PSAC.
