Mountain Cats Roll at Home Over PSU-Greater Allegheny, 82-41

Sophomore center Kyle Goldcamp (Pittsburgh, Pa.) scored a game-high 17 points to lead a Pitt Johnstown attack that saw all 11 players who dressed enter the scoring column in an 82-41 win over visiting Penn State-Greater Allegheny, Tuesday night in the Sports Center. With the win, Head Coach Bob Rukavina's team has won four straight and improved to 15-6.
Goldcamp finished 8-12 from the field with nine rebounds (7 offensive rebounds) and three blocks, while senior guard Dwight Hines (Aliquippa, Pa.) added 13 points, including forr three-pointers. Sophomore forward Marcus Tullis (Johnstown, Pa.) scored 12 points, grabbed three rebounds and blocked two shots, and freshman forward Steve Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) rounded out the Mountain Cats who scored in double figures with 10 points off of Coach Rukavina's bench. Senior guard J.J. Schumacher (Castle Shannon, Pa.) scored eight points and dished out five assists, and sophomore guard Quinton Davis (Pittsburgh, Pa.) chipped in six points and nine rebounds in the win.
With his 13 points, Hines moved into 16th place on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List with 1,033 points. He is now one point shy of Ron Haden (1993-95) for 15 place and seven points away from Steve Scorpion (2002-06) for 14th place on the scoring list.
Pitt Johnstown opened the game on a 29-11 run over the first nine minutes, before taking a 49-26 halftime lead. The Mountain Cats, who never let the lead get below 22 points in the second half, cruised to the 41-point victory.
Pitt Johnstown dominated in every statistical category. The Mountain Cats shot 47.1% (33-70) from the field, while holding Penn State-Greater Allegheny to just 15-63 (23.8%) shooting for the game. Pitt Johnstown also out rebounded the Lions 53-36, forced 19 turnovers and blocked nine shots.
Leonard Green and Shahif Wellons each scored 12 points, and Justin Hamilton pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds for Penn State-Greater Allegheny, which dropped to 4-11 on the season.
The Mountain Cats travel to Indiana University on Saturday and to California University (PA) on February 7, before beginning a three-game home stand against the Unviersity of the District of Columbia on Saturday, February 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sport Center.
