Mountain Cats Dealt 1-0 Loss By Cal (PA)

Justin Taucher broke a scoreless tie in the 88th minute of play to lead California University (PA) to a 1-0 non-conference victory over the Mountain Cat soccer team, Thursday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.) made eight saves for the Mountain Cats, who dropped to 5-7-0 on the season.
Taucher took Steve Nese's throughball and beat Neff with less than three minutes to play with the match's lone goal.
Neff faced 17 California (PA) shots and made eight saves, but suffered the loss and slipped to 4-7-0. California (PA) goalkeepers Derek Yobbi and Charlie Dagnal to make three saves and secure the shutout. Dagnal played the final 45 minutes to earn the victory.
With the win, the Vulcans improved to 7-3-0.
The Mountain Cats travel to Seton Hill University for a WVIAC match on Tuesday, before hosting a conference match against West Virginia Wesleyan College on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
