Men's Soccer Earns 2-0 Win at Columbia Union

Head Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cat soccer team broke a scoreless match with a pair of second half goals on its way to a 2-0 victory Sunday evening at Columbia Union (MD) College. Sophomore midfielder Ben Sera's (Irwin, Pa.) unassisted goal in the 74th minute turned out to be the game winner. Pitt Johnstown has won two straight matches and improved to 3-2-0 on the season.
Following a scoreless first halt, Sera found the back of the net at 73:05 to give the Mountain Cats a 1-0 lead. Thirteen minutes later, sophomore forward Arik Misler (Johnstown, Pa.) took a pass from sophomore forward Jason Swope (Indiana, Pa.) and beat Columbia Union goalkeeper Francis Tucker to set the final score at 2-0.
Pitt Johnstown freshman goalkeeper Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.) faced three shots on goal amd made three saves to secure his first collegiate shutout and improve to 3-2-0.
The Mountain Cats finish a four-match road trip at Shepherd (WV) University on Tuesday, before returning home to host Mount Aloysius College on Thursday, at 4:30 p.m.
