Men's Soccer Cruises to 10-0 Win Over Mount Aloysius

Head Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cat soocer team returned home after playing four straight matches on the road and dealt visiting Mount Aloysius College a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. Junior forward Chris Hawkins (Scottdale, Pa.) scored a pair of first half goals to lead the Mountain Cat attack. Pitt Johnstown is now 4-3-0 on the season.
The Mountain Cats took a 1-0 lead on freshman defender Joe Cronan's (Indiana, Pa.) goal at 9:40. Hawkins followed with back-to-back goals in the 42nd and 43rd minutes to give Pitt Johnstown a 3-0 halftime lead.
Pitt Johnstown then exploded for seven second half goals, highlighted by sophomore forward Jason Swope's (Indiana, Pa.) two goals. Ben Sera (Irwin, Pa.), Arik Misler (Johnstown, Pa.), Josh Godish (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Ben Wagner (Lower Burrell, Pa.) and John Kotchey (Gibsonia, Pa.) tallied the other Mountain Cat goals.
Freshman goalkeeper Bob Suskie (Carlisle, Pa.) earned his first collegiate win and shutout after having to make just two saves.
As a team, Pitt Johnstown outshot Mount Aloysius 44-5 for the match, including a 24-2 advantage in shots on goal.
With the loss, Mount Aloysius dropped to 1-6-0 on the year.
The Mountain Cats travel to Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Saturday, before hosting Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
