Men's Soccer Suffers 3-0 Loss at Davis & Elkins

WVIAC leading Davis & Elkins (WV) College broke open a 1-0 halftime lead with two second-half goals on its way to dealing the Mountain Cat soccer team a 3-0 road loss on Wednesday. Pitt-Johnstown suffered its second straight loss and dropped to 5-9-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the WVIAC.
Bediako Swan gave the Senators a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute when he beat Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.) off of Elvis Hedji's assist.
Swan made it 2-0 in the 46th minute, before Justin Logan scored in the 54th minute to set the final at 3-0.
Neff made seven saves for the Mountain Cats, but surrendered all three goals. Mike Cuccaro (Pittsburgh, Pa.) played the final eight minutes and made one save. Timothy O'Toole and Craig Marshal combined to make four saved in net for Davis & Elkins.
With the win, the Senators raised their record to 10-3-0 overall and 8-1-0 in league play.
The Mountain Cats returning home to host a WVIAC match against Ohio Valley (WV) University and celebrate Senior Day on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown soccer field. Pitt-Johnstown will close out the 2009 regular season with road matches at Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on Wednesday and at Chestnut Hill College on Monday, Oct. 26.
