Mountain Cats Fall In OT at Chestnut Hill in Regular Season Finale

Gavin Reid's goal three minutes into overtime propelled Chestnut Hill College to a 3-2 non-conference victory over the Mountain Cat soccer team, Friday night in Lafayette Hill, Pa. Pitt-Johnstown which closed out the regular season at 7-8-0, got goals from Marc Bucci (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Bryce DeLizio (Chandler, AZ) in the loss.
Bucci put the Mountain Cats up 1-0 in the third minute on a rebound off of a free-kick, but Chestnut Hill answered with two goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half to take a 2-1 lead.
DeLizio knotted the score on Derik Swope's (Harleysville, Pa.) assist with eight minutes to play to force overtime, but Reid took Darius Gbunblee's assist and found the back of the net behind Mountain Cat goalkeeper Mick Cuccaro (Pittsburgh, Pa.) in the 93rd minute to lift Chestnut Hill to the win.
Cuccaro took the loss for Pitt-Johnstown after allowing three goals. Cuccaro faced 25 shots and made eight saves. Dave Sullivan earned the win for Chestnut Hill after allowing two goals on seven shots. Sullivan also made two saves.
With the win, Chestnut Hill improved to 7-10-1 overall.
The fifth-seeded Mountain Cats travel to fourth-seeded Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Wednesday to open the 2011 WVIAC Tournament. The winner advances to the conference semifinals at top-seeded University of Charleston (WV) on Thursday.
