Swope's Overtime Goal Leads Men's Soccer to Win at Alderson-Broaddus

Senior forward Jason Swope (Indiana, Pa.) found the back of the net in the second minute of overtime to lead the Mountain Cat soccer team to a 1-0 victory at WVIAC rival Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College, Saturday afternoon. With the win, Pitt-Johnstown snapped a four-match losing skid and improved to 3-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play.
Swope took a cross from freshman forward Jeremy Jones (Delta, Pa.) and beat Alderson-Broaddus goalkeeper Neil Wright-Elliot two minutes into the first overtime for the games's lone goal.
Mountain Cat goalkeeper Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.) faced 13 shots and made eight saves to earn his second shutout of the season. Neff is now 3-4-0 overall. Wright-Elliot took the loss after surrendering one goal and making three saves.
With the loss, the Battlers fell to 3-4-0 overall and 3-1 in the WIVAC.
Pitt-Johnstown returns home to kick-off three straight home matches beginning with the University of Charleston (WV) on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. The Mountain Cats will also host Lake Erie (OH) College on Saturday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m. and Concord (WV) University on Sunday, September 28 at noon.
