Men's Soccer Plays 59 Minutes With A Man Down and Wins 4-2 Over Ohio Valley

Freshman defender Reece Selzer (Pittsburgh, Pa.) stepped as goalkeeper and held a 1-0 lead for the Pitt Johnstown men's soccer team as it went on to a victory 4-2 at Ohio Valley (WV) University on Saturday. Head Coach Eric Kinsey's soccer team is now 8-8-1 on the year.
Junior forward Chris Hawkins (Scottdale, Pa.) opened up the scoring with a goal in the ninth minute off of an assist from senior midfielder James Penn (Pittsburgh, Pa.). Ohio Valley tied the game in the 35th minute to go into halftime with a 1-1 tie. Hawkins scored again in the 53rd minute to take the lead for the Mountains Cats before, Ohio Valley tied it at two in the 73rd minute. The lead was broken for the last time by an own goal for Pitt Johnstown in the 80th minute. Junior forward Alex Gatti (Indiana, Pa.) sealed the victory with a goal in the 83rd minute from sophomore midfielder Vince Spillane (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and senior midfielder John Kotchey (Gibsonia, Pa.).
Pitt Johnstown recorded 10 shots on goal to Ohio Valley's nine.
The Mountain Cats will celebrate Senior Day with its final match of the year when they host the University of the District of Columbia on Thursday at 4 p.m.
