Mountain Cats Deal Ohio Valley 3-0 Loss

Kevin Kearney (Wexford, Pa.) and Bryce DeLizio (Chandler, AZ) scored goals two minutes apart to break a scoreless tie in the second half and lead the Mountain Cat soccer team to a 3-0 shutout win over visiting Ohio Valley (WV) University, Tuesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. Pitt-Johnstown is now 2-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the WVIAC.
Kearney took a DeLizio cross and scored in the 50th minute to put the Mountain Cats up 1-0, before Delizio got a goal of his own two minutes later with a chip over Ohio Valley goalkeeper Spencer Widlicka.
Pitt-Johnstown set the final score at 3-0 in the 82nd minute on a unassisted goal by Jeff Linnenbach (Mechanicsburg, Pa.).
Nolan Levine (McDonald, Pa.) earned his second shutout of the season after facing 10 shots and making three saves. Levine is now 2-2-0 in goal. Widlicka took the loss after allowing three goals on 22 Mountain Cat shots.
With the loss, the Fighting Scots fell to 1-3-1 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play.
The Mountain Cats host a WVIAC match against Concord (WV) University on Saturday at 2 p.m., before traveling to California University (PA) for a non-conference match on Tuesday and to West Virginia Wesleyan College for a WVIAC match on Saturday, September 25.
