Mountain Cat Soccer Falls, 1-0 to Alderson-Broaddus

The Pitt Johnstown Mountain Cat soccer team suffered a 1-0 home loss to visiting Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College, Saturday afternoon in a WVIAC conference battle. The Battlers broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 65th minute. With the loss, Head Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cats fell to 5-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the WVIAC.
After s acoreless first half, Alderson-Broaddus' Israel Toko beat Mountain Cat goalkeeper Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.) on a breakaway goal in the 65th minute to secore the 1-0 victory.
Neff, who dropped to 5-2-0 on the year, faced just seven shots and made one save for Pitt Johnstown, which outshot the Battlers 17-7, but were unable to find the back of the net. The Mountain Cats also had seven shots on-goal, but Neil Wright-Elliot made seven saves and earned the shutout for Alderson-Broaddus.
With the win, the Battlers improved to 3-5-1 overall and 3-1-0 in the WVIAC.
The Mountain Cats travel to the University of Charleston (WV) for a WVIAC conference match on Tuesday, before returning home to host Westminster College in a non-conference match on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. as part of Pitt Johnstown's 80th Anniversary Celebration and the Inauguration of its fifth president, Dr. Jem Spectar.
