Men's Soccer Falls, 2-1, at Wheeling Jesuit

Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University built a 2-1 halftime lead and held on to defeat the Mountain Cat men's soccer team by that same score in WVIAC action, Wednesday night. With the loss, Pitt Johnstown dropped to 8-5-2 overall and 3-3-2 in the WVIAC.
The Cardinals jumped on Pitt Johnstown with a goal in the second minute by Scott Sinick. Wheeling Jesuit added another goal by Kerdyn Moe in the 19th minute to take a 2-0 lead, before the Mountain Cats responded with a goal by junior forward Arik Misler (Johnstown, Pa.) in the 43rd minute to cut the lead to 2-1going into the halftime break. Junior midfielder Shane Hejmanowski (Dillsburg, Pa.) collected the assist on Misler's eighth goal of the season. However, Pitt Johnstown was not able to tie the match in the second half and suffered its second straight one-goal loss.
Mountain Cat goal keeper Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.) faced 20 shots, including 13 shots on-goal, and made 11 saves, but took the loss and fell to 7-4-2 on the year. Brandon Regan saw eight shots (six shots on-goal) and made five saves to earn the victory.
With the victory, the Cardinals raised their overall record to 9-5-0 and their WVIAC record to 4-3-0.
The Mountain Cats return home to host Ohio Valley (WV) University in a WVIAC match on Saturday at 4:00 p.m., before hosting Point Park University in a non-conference match for Senior Day and the final home match of the 2007 regular season on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
