Men's Soccer Falls at Davis & Elkins in WVIAC Semifinals

Head Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cat soccer team made a run in the WVIAC tournament, but Pitt Johnstown's season ended on Thursday with a 4-0 loss in the conference semifinals at top-seeded Davis & Elkins (WV) College. Pitt Johnstown, the #5-seed in the tournament, finished the 2007 seson with a 10-7-3 overall record and a 4-3-2 record in the WVIAC.
The Senators scored al four of their goals in the first half and cruised to the win. Davis & Elkins opened the scoring with a goal by Daniel Kwafo in the eighth minute, before Aaron Edings and Michael Knox increased the lead to 3-0 with goals in the 19th and 24th minutes. The Senators ended the scoring and set the final score at 4-0 when Mikey Perez found the back of the net in the 45th minute.
Junior forward Arik Misler's (Johnstown, Pa.) two shots on-goal paced the Mountain Cats, while senior forward Chris Hawkins (Scottdale, Pa.) added three shots, including one shot on-goal in the loss.
Pitt Johnstown got nine saves from sophomore goalkeeper Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.). Davis & Elkins' Timothy O'Toole and and John Parsons combined to make five saves to share the shutout.
The Senators improved to 17-4-0 on the season.
