Bill Luther to Represent US on European Basketball Tour

Pitt-Johnstown sophomore forward Bill Luther (Gibsonia, Pa.) has been named a member of the 2011 Global Sports Select/All-Star Basketball Team that will train, compete, and tour in Belgium, Germany and London from August 11-16. Luther is one of 10 members of the team that will be coached by California University (PA)'s Bill Brown. Five Division II players and five Division I players, including Purdue University's Travis Carroll, comprise the touring roster.
Luther, selected to the WVIAC All-Freshman Team following the 2010-11 season, averaged 10.8 points and 5.3 rebounds as a true freshman.
Global Sports Academy provides this opportunity that allows the student athlete to act as an ambassador representing the United States and their respective institution, while competing internationally.
Global Sports Academy (GSA) is a not-for-profit organization participating in domestic and international competition since 1991. GSA was initially established to provide athletes overseas playing opportunities in Ice Hockey and it has grown to support a total of 12 different sports that compete in 25 different countries throughout the world. Our mission is to arrange athletic competition between equally matched teams at all levels and to "Promote International Goodwill" and a better understanding between nations through sports.
