Grubbs Earns Second WVIAC Player of Week Honor

Mountain Cat junior center Patrick Grubbs (Turtle Creek, Pa.) has been named WVIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks after averaging 22 points and 14 per game in a pair of Pitt-Johnstown victories... (Full WVIAC Release)
In Monday's 98-80 win over Davis & Elkins (WV) College in the Sports Center, Grubbs scored 24 points and pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds. He shot 9-13 from the field and 6-9 from the free-throw line. Grubbs also had three assists and a steal.
Grubbs followed that effort with another double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday's 96-77 home win over Seton Hill University. He connected on 7-10 from from the field and a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe.
Grubbs, who was also honored as the WVIAC's Player of the Week on Jan. 10, is the fourth Pitt-Johnstown men's basketball player to garner player of the week honors this season. Nick Novak (Murrysville, Pa.) was named the conference's co-player of the week on Nov. 15, and Danny Branch (Washington, D.C.) was honored on Nov. 30.
