Davis Garners WVIAC Co-Player of the Week Honors, Aden Player of Week For Second Straight Week

Sophomore guard Sheena Aden (Sandy Lake, Pa.) was named WVIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, while junior guard Quinton Davis (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was tabbed the conference's men's basketball co-player of the week with West Virginia State University's Darren Jones when this week's honorees were released on Monday.
Aden led the Lady Cats to three victories last week and helped keep Pitt-Johnstown undefeated and in the top-spot of the WVIAC standings with a 7-0 record. Aden averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in the three wins. Aden poured in 27 points in a 72-70 overtime win at West Virginia Wesleyan College on Monday, including a pair of free game-winning free throws. She tallied 20 points in Thursday's win over Davis & Elkins (WV) College, before finishing the week with 19 points in the triumph against Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Saturday. Aden also shot an impressive 71.4% (25-35) from the field for the week.
On the men's side, Davis averaged 24.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as Pitt-Johnstown split a pair of conference outings last week. He hit on 7-of-9 field goals and tallied 15 points in Thursday's Mountain Cat victory over Davis & Elkins. Davis followed that effort with 34 points, including 29 points in the first half, and 12 rebunds in a narrow loss to nationally ranked Alderson-Broaddus on Saturday. Davis connected on 19-of-28 (.706) field goals for the week and also hit on 7-of-8 (.875) free throw attempts.
Davis shares this week's player of the week honors with Jones, who helped West Virginia State pick up three wins last week by averaging 21.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. The junior guard poured in 30 points and dished out nine assists in a rout of Wheeling Jesuit last Monday. He also tallied a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday's win at Seton Hill. For the week, Jones connected on 19 of 31 (.613) shots from the floor, including 12 of 16 three-pointers. He also drained 15 of 17 (.882) free throws.
