Pitt-Johnstown senior guard Nick Novak (Murrysville, Pa.) was named WVIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 27 points and 7.5 assists in two Mountain Cat victories... (Full WVIAC Release)
In Monday's home win over Glenville State (WV) College, Novak connected on 12-18 shots from the floor and buried both foul shots for a game-high 26 points. He narrowly missed a double-double by dishing out nine assists. Novak also added a rebound and a steal in the game.
On Saturday, Novak poured in a game-high 28 points in a 10-point win at the University of Charleston (WV). He shot 11-17 from the field, including making 6-7 of his foul shots. Novak totaled game-high honors with six assists and four steals, while adding a pair of rebounds.
For the week, Novak hit 65.7 percent of his shots from the field (23-of-35) and made 88.8 percent of his charity tosses (8-9). He averaged 7.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 rebounds.
