Volleyball Ends Point Park Tournament With Split

After opening the Point Park University Tournament with a loss Friday evening, the Lady Cat volleyball team split a pair of games on Saturday to wrap up the tournament. Pitt-Johnstown suffered a 3-1 loss to Point Park, but rebounded with a 3-1 win over Seton Hill University behind 14 kills from Lindsay Roush (Johnstown, Pa.). The Lady Cats are now 2-3.
Roush's 14 kills led Pitt-Johnstown to a 27-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-20 victory over Seton Hill to end the tournament. Heidenthal added 12 kills and Hrescak had 10 kills, two service aces and eight digs. Head Coach Linda Renzi also got nine kills two aces, four block solos and a block assist from Dirado and 24 digs from Kohler. Petrilla (17 assists) and King (10 assists) combined for 24 set assists for Pitt-Johnstown. With the loss, Seton Hill fell to 0-3.
The Lady Cats return home to host three straight matches beginning with WVIAC rival Shepherd (WV) University on Wednesday. Pitt-Johnstown will also host a conference match against Glenville State (WV) College on Friday and a non-conference match against Mount Aloysius College on Monday September 20. All three home matches will tip-off at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
