Volleyball Falls in Five Sets to Point Park

Point Park University battled back from a 2-0 deficit to hand the Lady Cat volleyball team a 22-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-8, 15-9 loss, Thursday night in the Sports Center. Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) had 12 kills, and Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) added 11 kills for Pitt-Johnstown, now 5-7 on the season.
Along with her 11 kills, Hrescak had 16 digs and one block assist, while Beth Kendera (Johnstown, Pa.) had eight kills, four block solos and a pair of block assists.
Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) and Taylor King (York, Pa.) collected 18 and 17 set assists, respectively, and Kelsey Kholer (Johnstown, Pa.) finished with a game-high 25 digs for the Lady Cats.
Lindsey Oberacker had 19 kills, and Ashley Zietak chipped in 13 kills to pace Point Park, which improved to 15-5.
The Lady Cats continue a stretch of four straight home matches with a WVIAC contest against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown will also host conference matches against West Liberty (WV) University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and West Virginia Wesleyan College on Tuesday, October 12 at 7 p.m.
