Volleyball Sweeps WV Wesleyan in Sports Center

Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) collected a game-high 15 kills and added two block assists to lead the Lady Cat volleyball team to a 29-27, 25-23, 26-24 WVIAC sweep over visiting West Virginia Wesleyan College, Tuesday night in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown improved to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in conference play.
Along with Heidenthal, Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) had 10 kills and 10 digs, while Beth Kendera (Johnstown, Pa.) added five kills, a block solo and a pair of block assists.
Taylor King (York, Pa.) (17 assists) and Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) (12 assists) combined for 29 set assists, and Kelsey Kohler (Johnstown, Pa.) had 18 digs. Ashley Dirado (Greensburg, Pa.) chipped in five block assists in the win.
Jessica Pattyn's 12 kills paced West Virginia Wesleyan, which slipped to 7-11 overall and 3-4 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats begin a stretch of five consecutive road matching at Ohio Valley (WV) University on Friday and at Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday, October 20.
