Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets at Alderson-Broaddus

Tayler Vebares (Red Lion, Pa.) had six kills and a pair of block assists, but Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College dealt the Lady Cat volleyball team a 25-9, 25-20, 25-21 road WVIAC loss, Friday night. With the loss, Pitt-Johnstown fell to 3-9 overall and 1-1 in the WVIAC.
Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) and Danielle Fleeger (Clarion, Pa.) each had four kills to go along with Vebares' six kills. Nikki Oakes (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) led Pitt-Johnstown with 12 and five set assists, respectively, while Kelsey Kohler (Johnstown, Pa.) finished with five digs.
Alderson-Broaddus improved to 4-10 overall and 2-1 in conference-play.
The Lady Cats continue a stretch of five staight WVIAC road matches at Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Saturday and at Fairmont State (WV) University on Wednesday. Pitt-Johntown will return home to host a non-conference match against Penn State-Altoona on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
