Volleyball Earns Home Sweep Over West Liberty State

Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team improved to 5-3 on the season with a 30-15, 30-12 and 30-9 sweep over visiting West Liberty State (WV) College, Tuesday night in the Sports Center. Sophomore middle hitter Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) collected six blocks and eight kills to lead Pitt Johnstown.
Senior outside hitter Abbey Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) had eight kills and freshman middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) added six kills. The Lady Cats also got 33 set assists from sophomore setter Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) and 16 digs from senior defensive specialist Ashley Brant (Johnstown, Pa.).
As a team, Pitt Johnstown tallied 10 service aces in the sweep over the Hilltoppers.
With the loss West Liberty State dropped to 0-10 on the year.
The Lady Cats travel to the Lebanon Valley College Tournament on Friday and Saturday, before returning home to host Chatham College on Monday at 7:30 p.m. and Penn State-Altoona on Wednesday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m.
