Volleyball Sweeps Ohio Valley For Third Straight Win

Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) had nine kills and a pair of block assists to lead the Lady Cat volleyball team to a three-game sweep over visiting Ohio Valley (WV) University, Thursday night in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown made it three straight wins and improved to 10-6 overall and 6-3 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats dominated Ohio Valley 25-10, 25-9 and 25-15.
Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) and Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) each had seven kills and two block solos, while Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) paced Pitt-Johnstown with 23 set assists.
With the loss, Ohio Valley fell to 3-19 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
Pitt-Johnstown will begin a stretch of seven straight road events starting at Mount Aloysius College on Tuesday. The Lady Cats will return home to host a WVIAC match against Fairmont State (WV) University on Thursday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
