Volleyball Cruises To Sweep at Ohio Valley

The Lady Cat volleyball team made it six straight wins and improved to 13-6 overall with a 3-0 non-conference sweep at Ohio Valley (WV) University, Friday evening. Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) had eight kills, three block solos and three service aces to lead Pitt-Johnstown.
Pitt-Johnstown defeated Ohio Valley 25-15, 25-15, 25-14.
Along with Hrescak, Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) had seven kills and three block solos, and Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) added five kills, four block solos and three block assists.
Head Coach Linda Renzi also got 17 assists from Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) and eight assists from Taylor King (York, Pa.).
Katie Shadron (Ligonier, Pa.) and Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) led the Lady Cats with 11 and five digs, respectively.
With the loss, Ohio Valley fell to 4-21 on the season.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Salem International (WV) University on Saturday and to West Liberty State (WV) College on Wednesday. The Lady Cats will return home to host Fairmont State (WV) University on Thursday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
