Women's Volleyball Sweeps Ohio Valley

After suffering a loss Friday night at Glenville State (WV) College, Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team was back in action Saturday morning at WVIAC rival Ohio Valley (WV) University and came away with a three-games-to-none sweep. Pitt Johnstown improved to 4-9 overall and 2-4 in the WVIAC.
Pitt Johnstown swept Ohio Valley 30-19, 30-24 and 30-23.
Sophomore middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) paced the Lady Cats with 10 kills, while junior setter Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) had a team-high 18 assists. Freshman Taylor King (York, Pa.) chipped in 13 assists and junior defensive specialist Katie Shadron (Ligonier, Pa.) had 39 digs in the victory.
With the loss, Ohio Valley dropped to 6-12 overall and 3-2 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats return home to host West Liberty State (WV) College in a WVIAC conference match on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center as part of the University's 80th Anniversary Celebration and the Inauguration of Pitt Johnstown's fifth preisdent, Dr. Jem Spectar.
