Lady Cat Volleyball Earns Home Sweep Over West Liberty State

Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team made it two straight wins with a 30-23, 30-22, 30-18 sweep over West Liberty (WV) State College, Wednesday night in the Sports Center. Junior middle hitter Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) had eight kills and eight block assists to help Pitt Johnstown improve to 5-9 overall and 3-4 in the WVIAC.
Junior Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) and sophomore Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) had seven and six kills, respectively, while sophomore Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) collected five kills and three block solos. Coach Renzi also go 19 assists from Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) and nine digs from Katie Shadron (Ligonier, Pa.). Kelly Miller (Stoystown, Pa.) added three kills and three block assists in the victory.
With the loss, West Liberty State (WV) College fell to 1-17 overall and 0-4 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats will host WVIAC rival Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center as part of the University's 80th Anniversary Celebration and the Inauguration of Pitt Johnstown's fifth president, Dr. Jem Spectar.
