Volleyball Suffers 3-0 Loss at West Virginia Wesleyan

Sophomore outside hitter Kelly Miller (Stoystown, Pa.) led Pitt Johnstown with seven kills, but it wasn't enough, as West Virginia Wesleyan College dealt the Lady Cat volleyball team a 30-20, 30-19, 30-17 road loss, Friday night. With the loss, the Lady Cats had their three-match winning streak snapped and fell to 11-12 overall and 6-7 in the WVIAC.
Along with Miller, sophomore middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) had three block solos and three block assists, while junior Kayla Lape (Fishertown, Pa.) and sophomore Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) each had three block solos. Head Coach Linda Renzi also got team-highs of 15 set assists from freshman Taylor King (York, Pa.) and 15 digs from junior Katie Shadron (Ligonier, Pa.) in the loss.
With the victory, West Virginia Wesleyan improved to 20-10 overall and 13-2 in WVIAC play.
The Lady Cats will host their final two home matches of the 2007 season on Saturday with a split doubleheader against Salem International (WV) University at 1:00 p.m. and West Virginia State University at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
