Lady Cat Volleyball Earns Two Wins to Start St. Vincent Tournament

After dropping the season opener to Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Tuesday, Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team earned a pair of wins on Friday to start the Saint Vincent College Tournament. Pitt Johnstown, now 2-1 on the year, defeated Waynsburg College 3-games-to-2, before sweeping Point Park University, 3-games-to-none.
The Lady Cats built a 2-0 lead on 30-20, 31-29 victories, but Waynesburg battled back with 33-31 and 30-28 wins to force a deciding game five. However, Pitt Johnstown was up to the challenge and dealt Waynesburg a 15-13 loss to claim the match. In the nightcap, the Lady Cats defeated Point Park, 30-27, 30-28 and 30-26.
The Lady Cats finish the Saint Vincent College Tournament on Saturday, before returning home to host a Tri-Match with Philadelphia University and Point Park University on Saturday, September 9 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Sports Center.
