Andrea Dalton Named Second Team Academic All-District

Pitt-Johnstown Lady Cat senior forward Andrea Dalton (Washington, Pa.) has been named Second-Team Capital One Academic All-District II when this year's teams were released on Thursday. Dalton, who is averaging 19 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, is joined on the Academic All-District Second-Team by Amy Achesinski (Mercyhurst), Alexandra Chili (Muhlenburg), Kate Dellinger (Widener), Ashley Henderson (Point Park), and Elisha Jones (Waynesburg).
Tori Hansen (West Liberty), Lindsey Kentner (Charleston (WV), Melissa McQuade (Kutztown) Brittany Sedlock (St. Vincent), and Kathryn Stockbower (Swarthmore) are this year's First-Team Academic All-District II selections, and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on for Academic All-America honors.
The 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District ® Women's Basketball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the floor and in the classroom.
The Academic All-District ® teams include the student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The University Division team includes NCAA Division I participants, while the College Division team combines NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the national Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where First, Second and Third Team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
