Mountain Cat Wrestlers Dominate 2007 East Coast Duals With Six Wins

After posting two lopsided victories on Friday night to start the 2007 East Coast Wrestling Duals, Head Coach Pat Pecora's #5-ranked Pitt Johnstown wrestlers shined again on Saturday in front of the home fans in the Sports Center. Pitt Johnstown earned four more victories by a combined score of 157-18. In six matches at this year's Duals, Pitt Johnstown, 15-5 on the year, the Mountain Cats outscored their opponents 237-28.
On Saturday, Pitt Johnstown defeated Carson-Newman (TN) College, 27-12 and the University of North Carolina-Pembroke, 31-6, in the morning matches, before earning a 48-0 win over Limestone (S.C.) College and a 51-0 victory over Belmont Abbey (N.C.) College in the afternoon.
The Mountain Cats wrapped up the Duals with five more falls in the shutout over Belmont Abbey. Valko (141 lbs.), red-shirt freshman Ryan McIntyre (149 lbs.) (Claysburg, Pa.), Walsh (184 lbs.), Fowler (197 lbs.) and Neese (HWT.) won by fall.
The Mountain Cats travel to Gannon University on Wednesday and American (D.C.) University on Saturday, before returning home to host #10 Ashland (OH) University on Wednesday, January 31 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
