#3 Wrestlers Dominate in Four Victories at Northeast Duals

Head Coach Pat Pecora's NCAA Division II #3-ranked Mountain Cat wrestlers traveled to Guilderland Center, NY on Saturday for the 2005 Northeast Collegiate Wrestling Duals and came away with dominating victories over four Division I teams. Pitt Johnstown earned wins over SUNY-Binghamton, Ohio University, Sacred Heart (CT) University and Virginia Tech by a combined score of 153-21. Junior Mike Fowler (197 lbs.) (Carrolltown, Pa.) led three Mountain Cats who posted 4-0 records. Pitt Johnstown in now 7-1 on the season.
Coach Pecora's Mountain Cats opened the day with a 52-0 shutout over Binghamton, before dealing Ohio a 37-3 loss. Pitt Johnstown then defeated Sacred Heart 31-6, before ending the day with a 33-12 win over Virginia Tech.
Along with Fowler, sophomores Brandon Reasy (133 lbs.) (New Enterprise, Pa.) and Albert Miles (165 lbs.) (Canonsburg, Pa.) recorded 4-0 records. In addition senior Jay Matteo (New Castle, Pa.) and sophomore Eric Svec (Greensburg, Pa.) each won two matches at 149 lbs., while 2005 All-American Eli Garshnick (Armagh, Pa.) and junior Adam Musisko (McKeesport, Pa.) both won two matches at 174 lbs.
Pitt Johnstown travels to Shippensburg University on Thursday and to the Penn State Open on Sunday, December 4. The Mountain Cats' next home match is scheduled for Friday, December 9 at 7:00 p.m. against East Region rival Kutztown University in the Sports Center.
