Mountain Cat Wrestlers End Regular Season With, 36-6, Win at West Liberty State College

Head Coach Pat Pecora and the #6-ranked Mountain Cat wrestling team wrapped up the 2004-05 regular season with an impressive, 36-6, victory at East Region rival West Liberty State (WV) College Wednesday night. Four Pitt Johnstown wrestlers won by fall to help the Mountain Cats improve to 20-5 on the year.
Junior All-American Thad Benton (141 lbs.) (Claysburg, Pa./Claysburg-Kimmel H.S.), red-shirt freshman Eric Svec (149 lbs.) (Greesnburg, Pa./Greensburg-Salem H.S.), red-shirt freshman Mike Corcetti (184 lbs.) (Export, Pa./Kiski Area H.S.) and senior three-time All-American Howard Bell (197 lbs.) (Irwin, Pa./Penn Trafford H.S.) all won by fall to lead the Mountain Cats. Junior two-time National Qualifier Ryon Mazzocco (125 lbs.) (Cresson, Pa./Penn Cambria H.S.), red-shirt freshman Brandon Reasy (133 lbs.) (New Enterprise, Pa./Northern Bedford H.S.), senior National Qualifier Matt Roncolato (157 lbs.) (Allentown, Pa./Salisbury H.S.) and junior National Qualifier Zach Majocha (HWT.) (Upper Burrell, Pa./Burrell H.S.) pick up decision victories.
The Mountain Cats will host the 2005 NCAA Division II East Regional Wrestling Tournament on Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26 in the Sports Center, before traveling to the 2.
