Men's Soccer opens with loss at Georgian Court

Georgian Court (NJ) University netted a pair of goals in the first eight minutes and held off the Mountain Cat soccer team 2-0 in Pitt-Johnstown's  2013 season-opener, Sunday afternoon in Lakewood, New Jersey.

Ben Vergara took Michael Clarke's cross and beat Pitt-Johnstown's goalkeeper Tim Ofman in the 5th minute to make it 1-0.  Three minutes later Clarke added a goal of his own when his shot bounced over Ofman's head and into the net to set the final at 2-0.

That's all Georgian Court's Rylan Gentil would need.  Gentil collected seven saves and held Pitt-Johnstown scoreless.

Ofman took the loss for Pitt-Johnstown after giving up both goals and making  seven saves.
Georgian Court improved to 2-0-0.

The Mountain Cats start a four-game home stand with PSAC matches against Lock Haven University on Friday and bloomsburg University on Saturday.  Both games with kick-off at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
