Daemen (NY) scored two first half goals and went on to defeat Pitt-Johnstown 2-0 in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats fell to 1-6-0.
Caleb Holmes opened to the scoring in the 15th minute off of an assist by Andy Reid. 14 minutes later, Robert Ralyea header's off of a cross from Reid made it 2-0.
That's all Daemen goalkeeper Matt Daddario would need to secure the win for the Wildcats. Daddario saw 16 Mountain Cat shots and made four saves to earn the shutout. Â
Tim Ofman saw 19 Wildcat shots, made six saves, but allowed both goals and took the loss in net for Pitt-Johnstown.Â
With the win, Daemen improved to 3-4-0 in the season.Â
The Mountain Cats host a PSAC match against California University (PA) on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to Slippery Rock University on Saturday for another conference match.Â
